Haunting Driftwood Sculptures By Japanese Artist  Nagato Iwasaki

Nagato Iwasaki is one of those artists you don’t know much about. But his art talks for itself.

The Japan-based artist creates incredible driftwood sculptures. Each of his human-shaped figures can both mesmerize and scare you. The artist manages to create an uneasy feeling using nothing but wood and you can be sure, that if you’d stumble upon one of these sculptures at night, you’d go sleepless for days.

maruchansubs:

I posted a few screenshots of this OP a little while back, and during my travels throughout the net I saw someone lamenting that they can’t find a actual video of it anywhere. Well, that’s one of the few problems I CAN solve, so I might as well solve it. (Ain’t gonna subtitle this yet, ‘cause I just wanna goof off and eat candy.)

As OPs go, this one is really cool, with the extremely catchy KinKi no Yaruki Manman Song as the theme and animation done by Masaaki Yuasa. (It’s pretty obvious that he did this, but I didn’t want to make assumptions and spent the better part of half an hour trying to dig up whether or not he put this one together.)

It’s not great quality, but great quality versions of the OPs will probably have to wait until I throw some scratch together to buy some DVDs for raws, and that’s gonna take quite a while.
